The Hangman's Festival (Henkersfest) on Wilhelmsplatz is taking place again this year. Various live bands will perform over four days, offering musical entertainment in the open air. Food and drinks will be provided: many stands with international dishes and cocktail bars will be located in the area in front of the Leonhardsviertel district. The name of the festival goes back to the history of Wilhelmsplatz: In the Middle Ages, it was the site of the city's execution site.
